Mamoo's Legacy of Love
She was crosswords, and novels, enchiladas with cheese,
Coca-Cola, and kisses, and “Thank you” and “please”.
Wheel of Fortune and hugs, and her little dog Sandy,
She was boxes of Whitman’s and See’s chocolate candy.
She was lipstick and polish and jewelry and shoes,
And Diamondback ball and the Suns—win or lose.
She was coffee with creamer and one Sweet ‘N Low,
She would knit and crochet everywhere she would go.
She was cards to great-grandchildren each holiday
BIG LOVE FROM MAMOO is what each would say.
She was Teacher and Mother and Mamoo and Friend
Eternally hopeful through thick and through thin.
She traveled the world with the eyes of a child,
She was temperate and caring, and loving and mild.
She was road trips to Lordsburg when the poppies would bloom
She was joking and laughter that lit up the room.
She was funny and witty, and generously giving
She was kind and compassionate, with a great love for living.
She was love to a family foremost in her mind
A more loving woman we never will find.
She was OUR guardian angel sent down from above,
Who gave us a legacy of laughter and love.
She still is our angel who watches on highAnd we each one will see her again by and by.
Through her cherished family her legacy succeeds,
She’ll always be there in our hearts and our deeds.
